Finished 8 hours of recommended overtime at my new job. I have 6 more tomorrow then 15 per week until the end of this month. And this isn't counting the extra hour I usually stay per day.

Sounds like you need a drink, I've never heard of recommended overtime.

I'm basically an intern paid an hourly rate on par with a company employee. They hired me specifically for this project and I am doing it, alright. It's "recommended" in the sense that they'd like you to do it, and my contract ends in three months. Might as well cash out big.

I was thinking of going to a big national rally that's in a couple of weeks, took a look at their website to look up all the usual spectator stuff like directions, etc. lol nope, it's something that seems to have been in use since about 1995, no directions, nothing but an entry form, some addresses to post it to and a pdf pamplet for competitors and some Flash slideshow. And some "now a message from our sponsors". It had a link to a facebook event (for last year's rally) which had a map that uh, points to the car-park of a car dealership?
So I looked at another one that's slightly smaller the week after and more classics. Looked at their website and it had a map which points to... the centre of a small town. Okay, maybe they'll have some sort of presence in the square. At least these guys have a page for spectator info aaaaand... it's blank.

These are about 3 hours away, but on weekends when I'm free. The only time I ever lived somewhere that had a rally on my doorstep it always seemed to be on when I never had time.
Having said that, because that wasn't in the UK it was actually possible to find out information about the damn thing. Now here, it's a sport run entirely by old guys who have no interest in being helpful towards anyone and then wonder why nobody is interested in it and they can't get sponsorship. It's a fucking joke.
